Read the Word of God Without the Limits of a Translation

The Greek Mastery Membership takes you, an ordinary, hard-working Christian, to being a master of reading and studying the New Testament in the original Biblical Greek.

You get a clear path, all the resources you need, real instruction, and a community of learners who are on the same journey.

$65/month or $715/year - that's less than a single semester of seminary Greek, with better outcomes.

Brian Shank.avif

I am entirely grateful to the Lord for BMA. I intend to be a lifelong member as there is technically no end to studying and learning like this, only growth.

God’s word had never been so transformative like this to me.
BMA is constantly adding valuable curriculum and updating the tools the are literally paving the way of the future of biblical scholarship.

Every Serious Bible Student Eventually Hits This Ceiling.

Imagine sitting down to study a passage you've been preparing to teach. You open three technical commentaries. Two reach opposite conclusions about a Greek construction. The third doesn't address it at all. You close them all knowing no more than when you opened them.

That moment — that particular frustration — is what a ceiling feels like.

Most serious Christians who love Scripture reach a point where their English Bible and their commentaries stop being enough. You want to know why translators made the choices they did. You want to follow the argument of a passage rather than receive someone else's summary of it. You want to sit with Paul or John and actually hear them — not hear a scholar's careful interpretation of them.

You want to read and understand God's Word in the original language it was written.

That desire is not unrealistic. But without the right tools, it stays just a desire.

Untitled design.png

You Shouldn't Feel Guilty.
You Have A Method Problem.

You may have already tried to learn Greek. You bought a grammar. You worked through a few chapters. And then life intervened — or the grammar stopped making sense — and your confidence slowly died. That wasn't a failure of commitment. It was a failure of method.

A printed grammar gives you almost no support. Minimal feedback. Barely enough practice. No way to know whether you're spending your time on the right things. No one to ask when you're stuck. You're navigating in the dark.

The result is predictable. Most people who try to learn Greek alone don't finish. And even those who complete formal training often find they can study Greek but can't read it — or read it without the grammatical foundation needed to engage with the text at depth. Either way, the ceiling remains.

This plan works! I'm in my late 70s, and by following the small, consistent steps in this plan I can now read most of the New Testament in Greek without having to look up words. Cannot recommend it enough. — Comment from Allan B.

You're Not Trying to Read Greek. You're Trying to Read Scripture.

There is a difference between decoding words on a page, and thinking with the author. Most Greek programs produce decoders — People who can break apart a Greek sentence to categorize words into fancy names.

🙄

The Greek Mastery Membership produces readers — People who can open Paul's letters and follow his argument, who feel the weight of a word John chose that no English translation quite carries, and who can open three commentaries on a disputed construction and can evaluate which one is right.

This is not a course in Greek linguistics. It is a path to reading Scripture more deeply, more richly, and more confidently than you ever have before.

I read John 6 devotionally a few days ago and was able to pray through different interpretations of Jesus' words. I felt like I had a lot more clarity reading and praying through Greek instead of a translation. It brought me a lot of peace.

The Method That Produces Both Reading And Studying.

Most approaches to learning Greek produce one or the other. The 'natural language approach' develops readers who can read the text — but without the formal grammatical framework needed for rigorous exegesis. The grammar-translation method develops exegetes who can parse and analyse — but who often cannot actually read.

There is a middle ground. A best of both worlds. The Greek Mastery Membership does both.

Members who complete the mastery path can sit down with their Greek New Testament and read it — not haltingly with a lexicon in hand, but with genuine comprehension and growing confidence. And they can open a technical commentary, follow the grammatical arguments, understand the competing positions, and evaluate them on their own terms.

This is the outcome the ceiling was keeping from you... You were trapped in a translation — Not knowing what an author really meant, unsure who's commentary to believe. But now with the Greek Mastery Membership you can read Paul's own words in the Greek, and understand them for yourself.

Now you can read and study the Bible devotionally in Biblical Greek.

It was about 6 months ago when I realized I was just reading the text and not having to stop and lookup or at as many words and that I was recognizing thing i.e. cases, gender and so on quicker in my devotional time. That meant that my time, money and effort was paying off. As frustrating as learning grammar can be...this was a big milestone in my mind. — Forrest Cole. Premium Language Member

A Lifetime Stuck In A Translation... Or This?

Imagine reading the Bible like this for the rest of your life instead...

You open your Greek New Testament and begin to read — deliberately, thoughtfully, with a growing sense of how the original author is using language to reach his audience. And through that audience, to reach you. You notice what Paul is doing with his argument. You feel the weight of a word John chose that no translation quite captures.

You are not decoding. You are thinking with the author.

And when you open those three commentaries on the disputed construction — you understand their arguments. You can see which one is stronger. You explain the difference to your homegroup, your family, your church.

That is what the Greek Mastery Membership is designed to help you become.

Today I had the privilege of filling in for our Pastor who is gone on a missions trip and preached my first sermon. While I referenced basically no Greek in my sermon, the confidence that I had from being able to read the text in the original language and had the ability to see why translations translated the way they did was huge. It saved me so much time and provided such clarity.

I wanted to share the real-world impact BMA is having on my life. It isn’t just parsing random verbs and memorizing paradigms. I actually know enough Greek now to help me understand the Bible much deeper than I did before.

I can understand technical commentaries and have a great community if I have questions. (Thank you to those who answered the question I had about Eph 2:8 Τῇ γὰρ χάριτί ἐστε σεσῳσμένοι and understanding the aspect and how to translate σεσῳσμένοι in particular.)

So this is my way of saying thank you to BMA. Without BMA, I do not know if I would have volunteered for this. Thank you for helping a regular church member understand the Bible in a deeper way.

A Clear Path From the Alphabet to the Entire Greek New Testament

Nobody wakes up one day knowing Greek. It is a slow transformation — and the Greek Mastery Membership is designed to make every stage of that transformation as clear and supported as possible.

The question most people ask is "can I really do this?"

The right question is "what's the next step?"

Because Greek isn't a wall you either scale or you don't. It's a path. And every path — no matter how long — is walked the same way: one step at a time.

Here is how you will become a master of Biblical Greek through small, consistent steps.

How Do You Eat An Elephant? One Bite At a Time.

elephant4k.png

That's our mascot at Biblical Mastery Academy. Not because Greek is an elephant — though it can feel like one — but because the elephant represents the truth about how any large task gets done. You don't need to see the whole path before you take the first step. You just need to know what's in front of you right now, and do that.

The success path is built on exactly this logic. Eighteen levels across three stages — Acquisition, Competency, and Mastery — each one a manageable bite. Each one changes you, not all at once, but unmistakably over time.

[From your first Greek letter to reading every book of the New Testament — in order of difficulty, one level at a time. Stage 1 builds acquisition. Stage 2 develops competency. Stage 3 produces mastery.]

The Path Starts Where You Are Right Now.

identify Large.jpeg

Whether you have never seen a Greek letter, tried before and stalled, or have formal training but lost your reading — the success path meets you where you are.

Stage 1 begins with the alphabet and builds through beginning Greek, leading you into reading the New Testament books that are most accessible — the vocabulary simpler, the sentences more direct.

Stage 2 develops competency as you work through progressively more demanding texts.

By Stage 3 you are reading the most complex books of the New Testament with the confidence and precision that comes from having walked the whole path.

The path is self-paced. You decide how fast you move. The Consistency Score tells you what to do and how regularly to do it. The community walks alongside you. And every course on the path can be repeated as often as you want, at no additional cost.

Community

The Greek Mastery Membership is not a self-study app with a community bolted on. It is a learning environment built around the specific points where learners get stuck, slow down, or give up — and designed to remove every one of those obstacles.

$65/month or $715/year - that's less than a single semester of seminary Greek, with better outcomes.

Greek Tutor

Your daily practice tool

Greek Tutor is the app at the centre of the membership. It delivers vocabulary, parsing practice, concept quizzes, identification exercises, and translation work — all adapted to your current stage on the success path. Everything you need to build the skills that produce a Greek reader, in one place.

The Consistency Score

Greek Tutor's Consistency Score takes the guesswork out of practice — it tells you exactly what activities matter most, and how regularly to do them, to get the results you're looking for. Most learners who struggle don't lack motivation — they lack direction.

They do some work, expect progress, and when it doesn't come they assume Greek is just too hard for them. The real problem is usually simpler: they didn't know what activities mattered most, or how regularly to do them.

The Consistency Score tracks your activity across every exercise type over the last thirty days and gives you a clear number — not to judge you, but to guide you. It tells you what you've been doing, what you haven't, and exactly what needs attention at your current stage. You open Greek Tutor, you see what needs work, and you do the next thing.

No guesswork. No wondering whether you're doing enough. Just a clear path forward.

And as you complete activities, you can watch your score move in real time. Today's work becomes tomorrow's progress — visibly, tangibly, point by point. That immediate feedback is part of what keeps members moving

Cohort Review — instruction at the point of need

cohort.png

After completing your translation exercises for each lesson, you can review your work by watching a real cohort session — not an hour-long replay you have to scan through, but the exact three to eight minutes where an instructor and fellow students work through your specific exercise.

The experience is designed to be active, not passive. The cohort video plays alongside your own translation in a flexible two-column layout — you can compare your work with what the cohort is doing in real time, side by side. Swap the columns, go single column, or switch to mobile — the layout adapts to however you're working.

You watch real learners grappling with the same text. You hear the instructor correct, explain, and illuminate. This is not a lecture. It is a window into a learning community — and you are part of it.

Ask the Community or an Instructor — without leaving the exercise

Screenshot 2026-03-26 at 6.39.43 PM.png

Right at the bottom of every exercise screen — whether you're attempting the translation or reviewing it — are two buttons: "Ask in community (fastest)" and "Ask an Instructor (Office Hours)." One tap copies the exercise text and takes you directly to the community thread, ready to paste and ask. The other submits your question for the weekly office hours call, where you'll receive a written answer and a link to the recording.

No switching apps. No hunting for the right channel. Help is available exactly where you need it, exactly when you need it.

"I think it is perfect for me since I've been so busy. I can take the program at my own pace without worrying to 'get to class' at an exact time or else I'll lose the day of learning. It's better this way for busy folks." — Edwin, Greek Mastery Member

You Might Be Wondering...

I tried to learn Greek before and failed — Is this different?

Yes — and the reason most people fail is not commitment, it's support. A grammar alone leaves you navigating in the dark with no feedback, no direction, and no one to ask when you're stuck.

The Greek Mastery Membership gives you a clear path, the Consistency Score to guide your daily practice, the Cohort Review at every lesson, a community of fellow learners, and weekly office hours. You will not be navigating in the dark.

Built by Someone Who Had to Work for Every Step

darryl-burling-e1681789419145.jpg

Darryl Burling holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Counselling from The Master's University, a Master of Divinity from The Master's Seminary, and a Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Counselling with a minor in Biblical Spirituality from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is not a linguistic prodigy. Greek did not come naturally to him. He came to the language as a regular guy who loved Scripture and was frustrated by how much felt just out of reach — and he worked hard for every step of his competence.

That experience is what drove him to build Biblical Mastery Academy. Every feature of the membership exists because a real learner needed it. The grammar, the exercises, the success path, the Consistency Score — all of it reflects a single integrated logic, built from the inside by someone who understands what Greek learning actually requires.

BMA is not built for the naturally gifted. It is built for serious, hard-working Christians who love Scripture enough to take small, consistent steps over time.

What Does It Actually Cost to Learn Greek?

Most serious students of Greek who pursue formal training spend somewhere in the range of $6,300 in tuition alone — and that's based on conservative 2020 figures. Today the number is likely higher.

Here's how that breaks down:

Comparison Chart.png

[Note: seminary figures are conservative 2020 estimates — tuition and textbooks only. No accommodation, commuting, or opportunity cost included. Current prices are higher.]

Seminary Greek costs more than 9x the annual Greek Mastery Membership fee — based on conservative 2020 tuition figures. Today the gap is likely wider.

Untitled design.png

But here's the thing...
The Greek Mastery Membership is designed to produce both
the same exegetical foundation and the organic reading fluency.

You can get the same formal precision as seminary and also a natural familiarity with the text.

There is no better place to learn Greek this way than with the Greek Mastery Membership.
