I want my kids to learn Greek and Hebrew while they are young, to equip them to understand the Bible for themselves. To be fully equipped for every good work.
It took a moment to get them into the habit, but once that happened, before I knew it, they were walking around with their flash cards and were able to share their vocabulary they were learning.
They were having fun but were actually retaining more than I realized!
I was so encouraged! I realize that to learn Greek to be able to read it devotionally, not just as an academic exercise, my children need to be able to engage, slow down and have fun.
I think this program is just that key to getting them to engage in a way that I am praying will be heart transforming for my children.
My long term goal is that they will be reading through the New Testament in Greek devotionally. It will not be a text book, it will be transforming their hearts and minds to surrender their lives completely to Christ.
I am confident that they can do it. Right now, they are building habits, having fun, doing it together (I have 3 in the program), and actually doing it, almost every day! They do not yet understand the importance of learning Greek, but I do believe they will.
I have been teaching the kids Koine Greek as a spoken language, but I had a hard time getting progression.
I think learning Koine Greek is good to understand their faith, the Bible, and their culture. Getting the kids into the course has helped both their reading comprehension and spoken language sessions.
It has also introduced new games they play regularly, using both English and Greek words... This causes more practice on their own. It is a set curriculum that they enjoy, and it is better designed than my approaches.
As such, it is helping considerably... ...We had a general assembly at church. Luke stood up and made an announcement he thought everyone should hear. He listed his vocabulary words.
It has become easier, and they are making more progress... Prior to having them in this class, they struggled processing anything. They will make much progress.
Your child pursuing the biblical languages is worthwhile because it means they will engage with the Word of God more richly.

In the Greek Explorers Course, learn the alphabet, sounds and basic sentence structure. By the end of the 8 week course, your kids will be able to read saying of Jesus in Greek!
Advance to Greek for Kids: Grammar Pioneers
In Grammar Pioneers, we’ll be focusing more on grammar—the structure and rules that hold the language together. Grammar is important, because it gives you the tools to read, understand, and eventually think in Greek.
You kids will learn all about English grammar too!
